This is a fun YA story about a kind of magic-powered crime family, a girl who's a cat, and trying to act like a normal teenager when you're deeply abnormal even in your family's crime syndicate. It's kid-suitable without being patronising, a decent adventure story, and I liked the details about the 'curse workers' and their quirks and habits - I'd read the rest of the series happily if I found them in a library somewhere.
